CREATING
A NEW POLL
- Log
onto your Hosting Control Manager
- From
the navigation menu, choose Applications
- Choose
Voting
- You
will now see the "Add Voting Booth"
dialog box. Here you can define your font, font size, font color
and graph bar color.
- Redirect
Page URL: This could be the results page of the poll
if you have chosen to display results on a separate page, or it
may be any website URL / page you choose.
- Voting
Question: This should be the question you want displayed
on your webpage for visitors to vote on.
For
example:-
What is Your Favorite Color?
- New
Voting Items: This is the area where you define the "choices"
the visitor has to choose from with respect to their opinion of
the poll.
For
example:-
Red
Blue
Green
Yellow
Once you
have completed all the required field, you may click on Add
Voting Booth. This will now create a second dialog
box at the top of your page titled, Current Voting Set-up.
Now all you need to do is copy/paste the html script
into the appropriate page of your website.
- Click Show
Code
- You will
then be able to show the code for both your voting form as well
as the voting results page. You will need to ensure you paste
BOTH pieces of code either on the same HTML page,
or on two separate pages. (depending if you want results displayed
on another page or on the same page). First off, click To
show the voting form. Copy/Paste this code onto the webpage
of your site where you want the Poll to appear. Remember,
if you are using a WYSIWYG editor, you must paste the code into
the HTML section.
- Now return
back, and click To show the voting results
- Copy/Paste
the results code wherever you want results to appear on your site.
This could be on the same page as the Poll, or on another page
completely. It doesn't matter whatsoever where you choose to place
the results/graph.
- Once you
have completed the Copy/Paste of BOTH pieces of code, you may
upload the affected website pages to the server.
MODIFYING
AN EXISTING POLL
If at any time
you wish to modify the existing poll, or even replace the entire
poll with a new one you can easily make the changes.
- Log
onto your Hosting Control Manager
- From
the navigation menu, choose Applications
- Choose
Voting
- From
the Current Voting Set-up dialog box, click Edit
beside the Poll you wish to modify
- Now
you may go ahead and make any changes you desire.
- When
you are done, click Modify Voting Booth
DELETING
A POLL
If
you no longer want to have your Poll, you may simply delete it from
use.
- Log
onto your Hosting Control Manager
- From
the navigation menu, choose Applications
- Choose
Voting
- From
the Current Voting Set-up dialog box, click Delete
beside the Poll you wish to remove
- You
will be prompted to confirm if you really want to Delete your
voting booth. If you are sure, click YES and
your poll will be permanently removed.
