Using MySQL

MySQL is a true multi-user, multi-threaded SQL (Structured Query Language) database server. SQL is the most popular database language in the world. mSQL is a client/server implementation that consists of a server daemon mysqld and many different client programs and libraries. 866GetHost.com supports MySQL by offering clients MySQL, but does not provide technical support for MySQL.

SETTING UP MYSQL

1. Log onto the Hosting Control Manager
2. Choose SOFTWARE from the left navigation menu
3. Click MANAGE / SETUP MYSQL
4. In the ADD MYSQL DATABASE, choose your Database Name, as well as a Username and Password for this Database
5. Click ADD MYSQL DATABASE

You will be able to view each MySQL setup within your Hosting Control Panel -> CURRENT MYSQL SETUP. If you wish to edit the username or password, simply click on the EDIT URL. If you wish to remove the Database, choose DELETE.

ACCESSING MYSQL DATABASE

1. Open a web browser and launch http://sql.addideas.com/ From this location you will see the following screen. You will need to use the UserName and Password that you have defined from within your SOFTWARE area of the Control Manager
