Modify DNS / MX Records

The MX record is what controls how the mail is handled for your domain name (ie. it indicates which host can handle electronic mail for your domain). The MX resource record is one of the most frequently changed records in the DNS Record. Its required to change your MX Record if your company has its own Microsoft Exchange mail server setup or if you want your email handled by bigmailbox, everyone.net or even your local ISP.

We are pleased to offer this service to you at no additional charge. You must have your Administrator email us with the new DNS request to ensure that no errors are made.

Before 866GetHost.com can change your DNS record, we ask you to make sure you understand the following:

If 866GetHost.com is hosting your Web site and you want your mail server hosted elsewhere, we can change your MX record to any IP address you wish.

Once the modified DNS record is received, we will make the change in our name servers. Allow 6 hours for the changes to take place from the time the DNS record is emailed back.

NOTE: 866GetHost.com does NOT offer technical support for MX modifications. Please ensure that a qualified DNS administrator has looked over the changes prior to sending them in to support for update to the nameservers.
