Email Alias Setup

Email Aliases are extremely easy to setup. Remember, you MUST configure the corresponding Alias setup for each and every one of your POP accounts.

If your POP account is: Bob.Brown
Then you MUST create an Alias called: Bob.Brown
You may then create another Alias called: Bob

You would then instruct everybody to email you at Bob@yourdomain.com

If you are using your server as your POP server as well, have the aliases go to your POP username only. If you are using your local service provider's POP server, have your alias go to the e-mail address that they gave you.

SETTING UP ALIAS ACCOUNTS

  1. Log onto your Hosting Control Panel
  2. Choose EMAIL MANAGER from the Navigation Bar on the left.
  3. Click on EMAIL ALIASES
  4. You will then seen the ADD EMAIL ALIASES dialog box
    1. Email Alias: <this would be whatever you want to use as the email address. This is the name that precedes the "@domain.com".
    2. Choose the Domain Name you want to have this email address associated with from the drop-down menu.
    3. If you want the email to be directed to a POP account on your server, then choose the POP Username from the drop-down menu. If you would prefer the email address be directed to an external address (such as AOL, MSN, etc), then type the completed email address in the box beside "OFF SITE EMAIL ADDRESS". Make sure you select the radio button beside this option.
    4. If you would like to have a Autoreply associated with this email address, choose it now from the drop-down menu. If not, simply select NONE and then click on ADD ALIASES ACCOUNT

IMPORTANT: Ensure you create an alias for each and every POP account.
